Night

I am super interested in The Holocaust, so I was really excited to read this book. It was a true story written by Elie Weisel, a Holocaust survivor. The tragic tale of his awful journey really opened my eyes to the horrors of the Holocaust. The book is an amazing memoir, filled with tragedy and despair. Absolutely worth reading.

Great Expections

I had read this book before but it had been a really long time, so it was a good refresher. I didn't like it at all when we started it but by the end I loved loved loved it. I love the idea of trying to be something your not and then realizing it wasn't a very good idea. I love that Dickens constantly keeps you guessing and springs things on you all the time. A must read for sure!

The Princess Bride

In Honors English 10 we have read quite a few books and I thought I would post my opinion of them. We read The Princess Bride first and I really liked it. It was witty and clever and the author, William Goldman, added his own opinions and ideas into the text. All in all it was a good book and had a lot of exciting detail and action.

Birthday Fun Times!

So I realize I've been really behind on posts. School is sooo busy! So here is my birthday, just a tidge late.
So my best friend Tianna, is amazing. She came over to my house bright and early to do my hair and makeup, which just happen to be my two least favorite things to do. Besides that lovely surprise, my mom went and got doughnuts for breakfast. They were delightful.
Another added bonus came when my mom brought me and my friends In-n-Out for lunch, also delightful! After school my mom picked Tianna and I up from school and we went shopping!! So fun. I learned this birthday that my friends and family are seriously THE BEST!!

I won!!!

This Friday was election day. I was running for sophmore class secretary and to my great surprise I WON!!!!!! I want to say thank you to all the amazing help I had from my mom, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and neighbors. A special thanks to Kim Mckone and Felisa Sorenson. Kim helped me with my fantastic posters and banners, and even took the time to make me a t-shirt. Felisa did my e-trade video in one day and came over in the late hours of the evening to record our voices. You guys are so amazingly talented. Thanks soo much. I could't have done it without you.
