It's been a while!

I know I've been a little MIA for a while but I thought a quick update was in order. I am nearly halfway through my senior year and it has been so busy. I have applied to college! What? I cannot believe that it's already time for that. I just feel like I knew this would happen someday but I didn't feel like it would come so quickly! I applied to SUU, Snow College, BYU Idaho, UVU, and Utah State. In all honesty I think it will come down to SUU or Utah State. I have heard nothing but fantastic things about both of them. I have decided that rather than becoming a Journalist I want to be an Accountant. Quite a leap. I have discovered a new love for math and accounting. Weird. I know. I'm pretty nervous about starting this whole new chapter but I am beyond excited as well.
Aside from the college stuff, I have been working at Target since June and I absolutely love it. It is a great job and I work with great people. I have learned a bit about money management and real life. Who knew $200 dollars could go so fast? Or where it went? I love the people I work with and encounter every day. It's so fun to meet new people and just a get a little glimpse of their lives.
All-in-All this has been a wonderful year. As sad as I am to know this is my last Christmas living at home, I am so grateful for my parents and my siblings for making it such a joy. My parents are an amazing support and it is so amazing to have them to talk to. They push me to try things I would never have dared try and it has been such a blessing. I am grateful that even when I move away my family will be here when I come home and that I can always call.

Especially at this time of year I am especially grateful for my Savior as well. His life is an incredible example and his sacrifice is a blessing. I am grateful to know him and to be able to involve him in the hard decisions ahead of me, and above all I am grateful for the gospel and the foundation it gives me for the future. Merry Christmas!

S.T.O.M.P.

STOMP: Summer Trying Out Moroni's Promise
The Challenge: Read the Book of Mormon by the end of the summer.
The Goal: Gain a testimony of the reality of the Book of Mormon.
Challengers: Washington Fields 11th Ward youth leaders.
Challenge Accepted By: The youth of the Washington Fields 11th Ward

The youth were asked to read five pages daily and in the end try out Moroni's promise. As I took on this challenge I set some goals of my own:
1. Gain a better understanding of the Book of Mormon
2. Really study the scriptures
3. Become better aquainted with my Savior

This challenge has been such an amazing experience for my brother and I. He is 13 and also took on this challenge. As he and I have begun reading and talking together, we have strengthened not only our testimonies, but our relationship as well. The challenge ends on August 27th and I am excited to see how my testimony of the Book of Mormon and my Savior will grow.

Random Obsessions and Such

Where to begin? With summer nearing, summer fever is setting in. So my friend Randy and I are beginning our summer obsessions.
1. Bracelet Weaving. It sounds nerdy, I know. But look at the cuteness! (Thanks to Randy for the hand modeling.)

2.Face-Stalking. Congratulations to those on my friend list...you have been thoroughly face-stalked.:)

3.Fun new hair ideas. We have been searching high and low for cute up-dos. We have a few favorites.

4.Lip Dub videos. I want to do one. So bad. Search them on youtube. They are rad! Does anyone even say that anymore? Well, I do.
Well thats all for now. There will be more to come, I'm sure.

Night

I am super interested in The Holocaust, so I was really excited to read this book. It was a true story written by Elie Weisel, a Holocaust survivor. The tragic tale of his awful journey really opened my eyes to the horrors of the Holocaust. The book is an amazing memoir, filled with tragedy and despair. Absolutely worth reading.
